You Need A Budget 4 has been on Steam recently, its surprisingly easy to use, and most importantly they provide very good support to assist you use the product. I bought Acemoney last year and have to say the lack of a decent forum and support via upgrades and improvements etc has really been ...

Re: 'Detect Duplicates' doesn't work
There is a lot of room for improvement in the way Import Rules and Duplicate Detection work. People have been asking and asking for an improved import system for a long time. Hopefully MechCad will actually implement it someday. Yeah I mean how easy would it be to change duplicates detection to ...

'Detect Duplicates' doesn't work
I have tried importing my transactions from the bank several times now and every time I have set 'Detect Duplicates' it hasnt worked properly. It seems to be mistaking cash machine withdrawals of the same amount as duplicates. For example if I import transactions with one showing a cash machine ...

Re: Matching transactions
No the best way to use the program is to rely on the downloaded transactions only and dont enter them manually. This is acceptable usually for a home accounting program alone (which is what it is) where you can live with a slight delay to your transaction entering, but this program certainly isnt of ...

Re: Matching transactions
Set the program to check for duplicates when downloading but remember this isnt foolproof. Always check your programs final balance matches the online statements final balance. Re: Suggestions/Features Request Thread
One thing I would love to see added into the program is customisable field layouts for different Accounts Groups. I've set up several new Accounts Groups in addition to the default ones - for example Assets, Childrens Trust Funds, Mortgage, Savings Accounts etc. In some of these I like the field in ...

Re: For UK users
Of course, the GB pound is just one of a large number of other currencies and symbols that I'm sure many users would like to see in AM. While it would be good to have these as options, I guess that when time and resources are limited, the reality is that it's probably going to be fairly low down ...

Re: For UK users
...and it's maybe worth mentioning that if you want to change AM's internal icons to a GB pound sign, instead of a dollar, then you might consider using Resource Hacker from http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/ John Have you done this yourself? If so perhaps you could send your modified file to ...

Re: New user migrating from MS Money
The Acemoney help file says how to transfer trsacation, report and investment files from MS Money: http://www.mechcad.net/products/acemoney/import-from-microsoft-money.shtml But if it was me I think I would probably start again from scratch in AceMoney starting with my new January 2013 transaction ...

Re: Investment Import from MS Money
The Acemoney help file mentions this - dont know whether it helps or not: If you also had investments in Microsoft Money and generated an Investement Transactions report (steps 10-16), select File->Import and open Investment Transactions.xml. Investment transactions will be added to the accounts ...
