I'm using Acemoney for years now. I installed 4.33.1 some weeks ago. It worked very well at first. I just got back from vacations, and now, everytime I try to save my file, I get the "Unable to encrypt and save the file, please contact MechCAD support".
I even tried to uninstall / reinstall and work with the sample file: same error. Any ideas?

Unable to encrypt and save the file, contact support
Re: Unable to encrypt and save the file, contact support
Sorry but I've tried to search the forum and I haven't been able to find the proper answer. Can you tell me where it is?juwlz wrote:Did you search the forum. You'll find the answer here.
I'll leave the actual answer as an exercise for the reader
Thanks in advance.

Yes, but in that search I can't see a solution for this. I've attached the search results and it only appears this post (where is not the solution) and another one related with acecloud that I'm not using.

Hello, I have de same problem. I tryed in windows 7 and 8. Acemoney can't save any data after upgrate to version 4.33.1.
Re: Unable to encrypt and save the file, contact support
I also recently started having this problem and am using version 4.33.1. The 'Syncronize for Mobile' box was already unchecked in my AceCloud settings. It doesn't appear to make a difference if it is checked or unchecked.
Re: Unable to encrypt and save the file, contact support
Message "Unable to encrypt and save the file" indicates that the software has encountered a mismatch between the encryption key (which is derived from the unique registration license) and the online storage secured by that key.
Please submit a support ticket, and send us following information, to assist us in troubleshooting this problem:
- software version and platform (e.g. 4.30 running on Windows XP)
- name of the registered user, available via "Help->About" menu
- email used to register the software, to locate your license info

Hey! I got the same error message today.
I did upgrade the program to the last version. And I never changed my registration info because I can't. So why this happens? What should I do to restore my data and continue using your software?

Open a ticket with MechCAD Support and send them your file and registration info so they can look at it.NecroMan wrote:Hey! I got the same error message today.

Re: Unable to encrypt and save the file, contact support
There was a message from Alex at MechCAD on the AceMoney Yahoo Group the other day which can be found at the URL
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/acem ... sage/15038
There has been some mechanism put in place to stop the use of illegal licenses produced by a prolific hacker. There has been conversation recently about how to stop the use of these licenses. "Unable to encrypt and save the file, contact support" is the message that is displayed if one of those licenses is found. Those users can read and report on their data but can't edit or save changes. Alex says that legal users should rarely be affected so if you think you have a legal license, get in touch with MechCAD to sort it out.
I have just upgraded to 4.35 and at that version the default for the cloud storage is now not set by default.
