Not sure if this has anything to do with my recent topic "Removing Accounts" so starting a new one.
I recently exported (3) of my numerous accounts into individual CSV files. All remaining accounts had been closed for 15+ years and I no longer wanted that data to be available.
I imported each of the CSV files into a new AMJ file, and since everything looked fine, I began entering transactions for the past couple months.
Something wasn't right with the Checking Account and eventually noticed that every entry (both past entries and entries I recently added) had been rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
Now I'm trying to figure out what caused this so I can make sure it doesn't happen again. Had the new entries not been rounded I would have blamed the problem on my import file. But the new entries rounded as well... although I'm not sure exactly when... i.e. after I closed, then reopened AceMoney... just at some point.
I'm not saying AceMoney is the problem, but trying to figure out IF it's even possible that AceMoney could have caused the problem. Does AceMoney even have the capability to round entries? Seems like it does but I didn't notice any settings that imply it does, nor could I find any reference in Help or online. But I would like to make sure before I start over.
Also, I had converted the CSV files into XLSX files. Not sure if that could have made a difference as well. Could importing an XLSX file create issues with AceMoney?
Any help or suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks.
Account Entries Rounded?
Re: Account Entries Rounded?
In the "Tools | International Settings" dialog, is the "Number of decimal digits" set to 0, by chance?Cobra wrote:Something wasn't right with the Checking Account and eventually noticed that every entry (both past entries and entries I recently added) had been rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
Yes, it does, if you enter a value with more decimal digits than what is configured.Cobra wrote:Does AceMoney even have the capability to round entries?
