Investments - Downloading Prices

This has suddenly stopped working: Unable to download a quote invalid Stock symbol etc
I have changed nothing and double clicking on the investment in the Portfolio tab sends me to the actual Stock on Yahoo - so I can at least manually input the figures - Any ideas??

Downloading prices from Yahoo has been broken for several days now (see the "Yahoo stock quote not working" discussion on AceMoney's Yahoo Group). Downloading exchange rates is also broken.

MechCAD is aware of the issues and has provided the following workaround for the stock price issue until a fix is formally released:

Until we completely fix this, please try this, download http://www.mechcad.net/downloads/AceMoney.exe to your Desktop, and then copy the file from your Desktop to "C:\Program Files (x86)\AceMoney". Let the new file overwrite the existing one. These instructions are for Windows users, I believe you know how to apply them on your Linux installation.

The update does not fix the currency exchange rates problem, you will still have to manually update them, if you need to. This update only fixes the problem with getting prices from Yahoo Finance. In order to make it work, select Google Finance as your data source, and type your investment symbols with the following prefix:

@YAHOO_

So for instance, if you want to check prices for BP.L, type @YAHOO_BP.L
If you want to check prices for VINIX, type @YAHOO_VINIX etc...

NOTE: Don't select Yahoo Finance as your data source, but Google Finance. That's how it works for now.

Suddenly Ace Money does not download investment prices. This worked fine until this afternoon, never any previous problems. I tried the fix mentioned earlier in this thread but it didn't work. I click update and all my investment prices set themselves to zero.

Is there another solution?

Have you upgraded to the latest version yet? 4.36.3 was released on 11/27 to fix issues with Bloomberg and Yahoo, and 4.36.4 was released on 12/6 to fix issued with Google.
