I am trying to change several Payee names in my AceMoney such as:
Old Entries: eBay - SellerNameXXX
New Entries: eBay: SellerNameXXX
or
Old Entries: Amazon - Seller
New Entries: Amazon.com: Seller
New Entries: Amazon.co.uk: Seller
etc.
The problem I'm running into is that it will not allow me to change case (upper/lower) or otherwise make small edits to such entries, instead reverting back to the formatting used in the previous transaction(s).
Is there a way to directly edit the 'registry' of all data (or Payees)?
Perhaps exporting to csv, editing the Payees list to my liking, then importing/overwriting the old data?
(I'm asking first, instead of attempting it and corrupting my AceMoney file )
Thank You in advance for any help

Editing Payee Name
Re: Editing Payee Name
Works fine for me. How exactly are you trying to edit it? Are you trying to edit it inside a transaction? If so, that is the wrong way to go.Zaphod2016 wrote:The problem I'm running into is that it will not allow me to change case (upper/lower) or otherwise make small edits to such entries, instead reverting back to the formatting used in the previous transaction(s).
That is what the Payees page is meant for. You can add/remove/edit Payees however you want. There is a "Payees" button on the top toolbar, and a "Payees" item in the top "View" menu.Zaphod2016 wrote:Is there a way to directly edit the 'registry' of all data (or Payees)?
No. Besides, you can't export/import just the Payees anyway, only transactions.Zaphod2016 wrote:Perhaps exporting to csv, editing the Payees list to my liking, then importing/overwriting the old data?

Thank You so much, RLebeau!
I never even looked at the Payees button, I was thinking that was for something else entirely...
It still took a little longer than I would've liked to get them all changed, but now it's done and I'll know where to go next time
