Scheduled Transactions

Post by dwciardi »

Although I searched (and got nothing) and read the FAQs and Help topics, I can not find out how you actually get a scheduled transaction to be entered into the registry. I double-clicked and that didn't work; I right-clicked but could not find an option to enter. Once the date arrives for the scheduled transaction, does it then automatically get entered? If not, how do you get it entered into your registry?

I have several pensions that are direct deposited on the first business day of each month and I have listed them on my Schedule Page. But, I can't figure out any way of actually getting them to go into my registry as a real transaction. Even when I click "Enter bill automatically" - it does not go into the registry as a real transaction - it just sits there on the Schedule Page.

I don't really need to be "reminded" when my 3 pensions become available. But I thought the purpose of entering the transaction on the Schedule Page was so you didn't have to enter the same deposit/withdrawal each month? If that is correct - then how do you get them to go into your registry on the date they are listed?

This question can be skipped! I found the button to click on the left side to get the scheduled transaction to actually go into the registry!

Right click and select Record bill payment - it then opens the normal input box where you can alter otherwise just press OK

If set to auto enter when you made the scheduled transaction it will automatically enter it on said date.

To elaborate on BobW's answer, if you are in an actual Account registry, you can right-click on a scheduled (grey) transaction and select "Record bill payment". However, if you are in the Schedule instead, you can right-click on a scheduled transaction and select "Enter...", or you can left-click on a transaction and press the "Enter into registry" button on the left-hand side panel.
