Administrator / Moderators - are you aware that the search function doesn't seem to work properly?
No matter what query I try, it always seems to return: "The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: " /whatever search terms/ ".

Search function broken?
Re: Search function broken?
This is a known problem with PhpBB-based forums. There is nothing this forum's moderators can do about it as we don't have access to those settings. A MechCAD admin will have to address it.
Re: Search function broken?
Thank you Remy. I understand from the link you provided that only an admin can solve this by rebuilding the search index in the back-office.
So, is there an admin that can fix this?
Thanks & regards,
Paul

Re: Search function broken?
I submitted the issue to MechCAD for review, hopefully they will get to it soon.Paul wrote:So, is there an admin that can fix this?

Thank you Remy.
There may not be an awful lot of threads on this forum (yet), nevertheless it is annoying when search doesn't work. Waste of people's time.

Re: Search function broken?
I feel like a bit of a dummy, but I can't even find a "search" option. I think I have checked every option and been through help. Anyone point me in the right direction?
Re: Search function broken?
It is at the top-right corner of every page on this forum.

Thanks...LOLRLebeau wrote:It is at the top-right corner of every page on this forum.
I thought you were referring to a search function in ACE MONEY and not the forum. I'd sure like to be able to search transactions (IE: PAYEE = HOME DEPOT). Is that even possible?
Re: Search function broken?
Yes, this discussion is about the search functionality of this forum, not of AceMoney.krjamison wrote:I thought you were referring to a search function in ACE MONEY and not the forum.
Of course it is.krjamison wrote:I'd sure like to be able to search transactions (IE: PAYEE = HOME DEPOT). Is that even possible?
On the Reports screen, run a "Transactions by criteria" report, then check the box next to the "Select payees..." button, and select "Home Depot" from the list.
Alternatively, in an Account registry, you can right-click on a transaction that has Home Depot as the payee, choose "Payee report..." from the popup menu, and then customize the resulting report further if needed.
