I'm surprised and pleased to see this added. Much more comfortable for me than Yahoo Groups.

Perhaps we should also include the version of AM (and /or Receipts if applicable)

It's a valid point, but still it makes sense to have a part of the forum dedicated to the Mac version. This will make it much easier to search for Mac related issues in the future.

Another solution is to create a new area for general AceMoney issues which are not OS specific, ie. for financial issues and such. Shouldn't the OS specific areas be more about bugs and dealing with problems relating to the OS? For instance, there have been many posts about where to save your AceMoney file or how to find it, which generally is specific to an OS. When posts are made in the wrong area moderators can move them to the correct one.

I would say it's better to separate different sorts of issues so it's easier to find what you're looking for.

This sounds good, but not all users are truly computer literate and may have difficulty working out for themselves whether a problem they are experiencing is AM or OS specific, and so may post in Mac (or Win) when it really belongs in AM (or vice versa). Unfortunately I have seen instances in forums (fora ?) where posters who make mistakes seem to feel they are being abused when their choice of placement (or words used etc) are criticised. (And in some cases I would agree with them)

Basically I guess I am just asking that all posters remain aware of the lack of knowledge of many users (that being the reason many of them are posting)

Well as I said, moderators can move posts when they're not in the correct place, and I don't think anyone here would be rude to people posting in the wrong place.

That was quick Alex, I too agree with having a joint AceMoney area for items that are not Platform specific, called maybe General Chatter
