I am looking for a replacement for Quicken and am in the process of evaluating AceMoney. I have imported my data, which goes back to the year 2000 from Quicken and with the exception of one transaction, all appears to have gone well. There is a total that shows in the lower right hand corner of an account page. On one of my account pages, this total does not match the Total column. When I hover the mouse over the amount shown, it shows there is a imported total in addition to the reconciled total and the difference equals the amount being shown in the corner.
When I search for the transaction, the find windows shows it to be flagged as imported, but the transaction itself shows as reconciled in the transactions list for the account. Would anyone be able to tell me how to clear this imported status short of deleting the transaction. The delete would be an option I suppose as it occurred several years ago, but I would prefer to know how to fix the problem itself.
Thank you
Transaction flagged as imported
Re: Transaction flagged as imported
If there is an Imported total then there is one or more transactions flagged as Imported. A transaction should never be flagged as both Imported and Reconciled at the same time, as setting the Cleared or Reconciled flag is supposed to clear the Imported flag (and always has for me).
Make sure you are actually looking at the correct transaction in the Account screen. If needed, uncheck the "Hide reconciled transactions" checkbox in the lower-left corner of the Account screen so you can see all of the transactions.
You might try flagging the transaction as Uncleared (right-click the transaction and select "Uncleared", or select the transaction and press 'U' on the keyboard) and then re-flag it as Reconciled (right-click and select "Reconciled", or press 'R'). If that does not work, there is no other way to clear the Imported flag from within the AceMoney UI, so you will just have to delete and recreate the transaction.

Re: Transaction flagged as imported
Hi Remy,
Thank you for the reply. I appreciate it.
I was able to remove the imported status by right clicking on the name of the account in the account list and selecting, if I recall correctly, accept imported. Now the status for that amount is showing as the cleared total as opposed to the imported total. The cleared total offsets against the reconciled total, where the reconciled total is the actual total that should be seen. It would appear that the transaction itself is the issue.
I did try your suggestion to unclear and re-reconcile and reconciled transactions are not hidden at this time.

Re: Transaction flagged as imported
Thank you once again Remy. Your suggestion to delete the transaction was a good one in that it had me looking into the state of the transaction prior to deletion so that I would be able to re-add it. When I looked at the state of the transaction, I saw that it was marked as a transfer instead of a withdrawal. This meant there was no matching entry to offset it in another account. When I changed the transaction type from transfer to withdrawal, the total in the lower left changed to reflect the true account balance.

Interesting, I have never seen that option before.sherryd wrote: I was able to remove the imported status by right clicking on the name of the account in the account list and selecting, if I recall correctly, accept imported.
