One time saving feature of Microsoft Money was the ability to repeat the category, sub category and note of a previous transaction by use of a shortcut: I seem to remember it was cntrl-tab but can't be certain. Is there an AceMoney equivalent?

Not that I know of. I just copy/paste the entire transaction and then edit the copy as needed.
