I used acemoney lite (free version) 2 years ago. File format was mmw. I formatted my computer last mounth and tried to load mmw file to lite program but it asked the old computer name. I do not remember it. Then i bought acemoney finance yesterday. I am using a lisenced program now. Trying 2 years old mmw file now, but, still asking my old computer name (unless my program is licensed now).
How can i load my old datas now?

AceMoney 4.20 and later use an encrypted AMJ file. MMW is no longer used (but is still supported, just hidden to discourage its use). Loading and saving an MMW file does not require a computer name, so if AceMoney is asking for one, that would be a bug in my opinion and should be reported to MechCAD Support. A computer name is only used with AMJ files.

An AMJ can be password-protected, and the password is used as part of the encryption key. AceMoney Lite, and an unlicensed AceMoney, always uses the computer name as part of the encryption key. A licensed AceMoney always uses the license as part of the encryption key (which means a licensed AMJ can only be accessed by AceMoney installations that have the same license), and will also use the computer name as part of the encryption key if the "Permit access by multiple users" option in the Options > Password dialog is disabled.

If an AMJ is protected by a computer name, the AMJ is locked down to the specific computer that created it. In the case where the computer name has been changed, or the AMJ is moved to another computer, you are prompted for the original computer name. If you find yourself in a situation where you need to access an AMJ that is protected by a forgotten computer name, you can send the AMJ file to MechCAD Support to unlock it.

I had the same issue when testing out the trial version on another computer. When I paid and got the registration key, I wanted to open the file I had laboriously created on the other computer. It would not accept the computer name. I created an archive mmw file on the other computer and imported it into the registered AceMoney. This appeared to work well.
