Deleting Payee(s)

Is it possible to delete a payee that is being used in the registry? I try to delete one and AceMoney tells me, in so many words, that the Payee is in use and can't be deleted.
Is there a way around this? I like to keep my Payees down to the ones I use monthly.

I am quite sure that if the payee is associated with a transaction or import rule, it cannot be deleted.

Create a "Transactions by criteria" report, and in the left side bar in the Payees filter select only that one payee, and uncheck the "dates range" filter. This will show the exact transaction where the payee is used. You can then edit or delete it.

An alternative way to do that is to right-click on any transaction that is using the Payee and choose the "Payee report" menu item.

If nothing shows up, the Payee will be used in a Scheduled Transaction. A few years ago this had me going until I twigged. I find the "merge payee" and the ability to edit payees very useful.
