Editing or clearing the Comment column in bulk

Has anyone found a trick or workaround to edit or delete the Comment field for multiple transactions?

Some financial institutions populate the Comment field with data that is not helpful. Often it is just a repeat of the Payee. I would like to be able to edit or delete the Comment for multiple rows so that only useful comments remain.

AceMoney offers a Right-Click->Edit Payee and Right-Click->Edit Category but sadly there is no Right-Click->Edit Comment. To my mind that would be the most useful option.

Has anyone else tackled this? Perhaps with some other utility to pre-process the OFX/QFX file before import. (Although that wouldn't help with my historic transactions of course.)
