Wine Program Error

Just upgraded to OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) and tried to start ACEMONEY ... It would not start. The Wine Window said PROGRAM ERROR... This is not good!! HELP. This needs to be fixed ASAP please.

If this going to take a while to fix

a. How are we going to get an updated version of ACEMONEY since the current version will not start under OSX 10.11?

b. please give me access to a a copy of the current ACEMONEY. I have access to an OSX 10.10 PC and will install ACEMONEY there until you fix this one. PLEASE ASAP.

Please contact MechCAD Support and file a bug report on that website. Do not send private messages to MechCAD personnel in this forum. As for the current version of AceMoney, you can download it from MechCAD's website.

Just viewed a reply from MechCD. They wrote...

"Unfortunately we don't yet have a solution for El Capitan, you have to revert to the previous version of Mac OS X. We are working on the issue, and hope to have an update in a few days. Please check the release date from time to time on our download page."


This is very disappointing. A beta version of OSX 10.11 has been available for months to allow software developers to test and modify their app. Apparently MechCD did not avail themselves of this opportunity. A year from now when Apple brings us a new OS I hope we do not face this problem yet again.

The folks at MechCD have fixed the issue with AM running on OSX 10.11 (El Capitan). Downloaded and tested it. Works just fine. I know they rarely visit this forum, but their quick response is appreciated.

Yes this update works fine, but references to wineskin website appear in a number of places, and the webiste link is to wineskins and not acemoney or MechCAD.

Not sure what your statement is. MechCAD is the software company that produces and maintains the ACEMONEY application. ACEMONEY is a windows application so MechCAD employ a wrapper called WINESKIN. WINESKIN is used by numerous Windows apps, like ACEMONEY as well as many games from what I can tell, to enable a windows app to run on an OSX machine.
