Splitting a portfolio

Post by krjamison »

I use AceMoney to keep track of mine and my wife's accounts and that include TWO separate stock portfolios.
When I try and reconcile them at the end of the year the "Portfolio" tab only shows the combined portfolio.
In some instances we both own the same stocks.
Is there any way to see two (or more) separate portfolios?

Thanks

There is only 1 portfolio. However, you can add the same Investment symbol multiple times and give each one a different display name, and then create separate Accounts to record transactions for each Investment. So I don't see why you cannot have separate Accounts for you and your wife, each with its own transactions.

How are you "reconciling the portfolio"?

Maybe reconcile isn't the correct word. I'm simply trying to update my accounts with the latest information.
I think the suggestion you made to add a second investment with a different name makes sense. I will give it a try.
Thanks
