New user migrating from MS Money
New user migrating from MS Money
I am finally resigned to not being able to continue using MS Money and have decided to migrate to AceMoney. Can you offer any tips, tricks, and caveats? I am on Windows 8. Thanks.
Re: New user migrating from MS Money
The Acemoney help file says how to transfer trsacation, report and investment files from MS Money: http://www.mechcad.net/products/acemone ... oney.shtml
But if it was me I think I would probably start again from scratch in AceMoney starting with my new January 2013 transaction data and setting up my categories etc manually as I go. But I dont know how much data you have in MS Money, I like to keep my categories to a minimum - so I never stay with the program defaults.

Re: New user migrating from MS Money
I have everything in MS Money -- portfolio, credit cards, bank accounts, recurring bills and payments. I could start from scratch since it's beginning of the year. I would rather start from scratch than have to fix anything that doesn't import into AceMoney correctly. What about transactions I have downloaded or imported into MS Money from my bank or credit card? Import again into AceMoney or manually enter as cleared? Speaking of import, usual options are Quicken or qif file or cvs -- which is best?
